The Kiboko Primary School is located on the Soysombu Conservancy property. Here students up to grade 8 receive their national government supported education and learn from their dedicated teachers.
The students here are all smiles and keep in high spirits during their lessons, while the wind howls through the boards of the roof and open windows. All of the floors are dirt and the government supplied instructional materials are basic. Many of the students do not have desks and the floors are made of hard packed dirt. It is possible that some of them will join the regional workforce at or around the Soysambu Conservancy in the future. Others may go on to receive more education in Nairobi if scholarships are available.

Our class came here to give the students school supplies: pencils, paper, pens, and stickers for some fun. We played games and ran around in the soccer field with them after school and drank sodas. They sang us songs and recited poetry to us to demonstrate their astute learning. One girl I spoke with said she wanted to be a secretary and another said she wanted to be a lawyer. I told some of the other students about my job as a bird biologist and teacher. They listened intently, waiting for more stickers.
